Is a full eternity band comfortable to wear every day?

It can be - but comfort depends heavily on stone size and setting type. Full eternity bands with smaller diamonds (0.02–0.05ct per stone in channel or pavé settings) sit low on the finger and rarely cause discomfort during daily wear. Bands with larger individual brilliant-cut stones (0.10ct+) in claw-prong settings can press against adjacent fingers and snag on fine fabrics over time.

Half eternity bands have no such issue. The plain metal underside sits naturally against the finger regardless of stone size or setting. For buyers in physically active roles, or those wearing their ring every hour of every day, a half eternity is consistently the more comfortable long-term choice.

Which eternity band is better for stacking?

Half eternity bands stack more cleanly. Because diamonds sit only across the top 180 degrees, you can press a plain wedding band or a lab-grown diamond engagement ring flush against it without stones clashing or creating gaps. Full eternity bands can be harder to stack evenly - the curved diamond surface means adjacent bands do not always sit flat.

Does a half eternity band look smaller than a full eternity?

When worn on the finger, the difference is minimal. Diamonds on the underside of a full eternity band are hidden by the finger itself during normal wear - the full 360-degree effect is only visible when the ring is off the hand. For most people's daily experience, a well-specified half eternity with 1.00 -- 2.00 TCW in an Excellent-cut brilliant is visually indistinguishable from an equivalent full eternity while being worn.

Sizing: The Most Important Decision for Full Eternity

If you are considering a full eternity band, getting your ring size exactly right is critical - not approximately right. Finger size fluctuates throughout the day (fingers are larger in heat, smaller in cold) and changes over years due to temperature, weight, and aging.

Measure your finger at the end of the day when it is at its largest, in a neutral temperature environment. If your measurement falls between two sizes, size up - a slightly looser fit is far preferable to a band that cannot be removed comfortably and cannot be resized.
